Baptism

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit (vitae spiritualis ianua), and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.  Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (CCC, no. 1213)

Amen, amen, I say to you, no one can enter the kingdom of God without being born of water and Spirit. (John 3:5)

For infant baptisms, the parents should contact Fr. Kevin O'Keefe or Deacon Bob Larcher to schedule baptismal preparation as well as a date for the baptism.  The recommendation of the Church is to baptize children within six weeks after birth.

For adult baptisms, please contact Fr. Kevin O'Keefe or Deacon Paul Gutting to inquire about the RCIA (Rite of Catholic Initiation for Adults) program.  Typically, classes begin in September and the adults are welcomed into the Church at Easter.

Please read our RCIA page for more information.
