Mr David W. Ratcliff

Gartland Award Ceremonies--26 November 2006

Congratulations to David Ratcliff, recipient of this year's Gartland Service Award, for his many years of dedicated service to the parish. David has a special devotion to the Sacred Heart and is very committed to his role of adult server. David is also very involved with the worship committee when it comes to decorating the church especially at times like Christmas and Easter. He is ready and willing to do whatever needs to be done. The Award Ceremony will take place during Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Sunday, November 26th.  We are very proud and happy for him and his parents.  It is truly a thanksgiving time for them and our community.

Bishop J. Kevin Boland conferred the Gartland Award on 85 recipients at a Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on November 26, the Feast of Christ the King.

Named for Francis X. Gartland, the first Bishop of Savannah, the award is given for distinguished service to the Catholic Church in South Georgia. The award was instituted in 2000 with the 150th anniversary of the Diocese of Savannah.
